The N.C. Department of Transportation will begin replacing a failed cross culvert pipe in Dare County next week.
Beginning Tuesday, part of Scuppernong Road on Roanoke Island will close to through traffic while crews replace the pipe just east of the intersection with Arbor Drive. The replacement will take approximately two days to finish, weather permitting. The road will only be closed at the pipe location.
Drivers can access Arbor Drive from the west end of Scuppernong Road and access Dogwood Circle from the east end of Scuppernong Road.
Motorists should be alert to the changes and follow all detour signs while the work is completed.
