Downtown Manteo will celebrate October’s First Friday with a special “Halloween Island Edition” this week, October 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The free, family-friendly event serves as the official kickoff for the town’s seasonal festivities, featuring live music scattered throughout downtown, extended evening hours for local shops and restaurants, and special art exhibitions.
Dare Arts will host opening receptions for “The Great Art Heist Benefit Art Auction” and Eric Riggs’ mixed media exhibit, “OBX: A Dingbatter’s Perspective,” along with live music by Connected in the courtyard. Visitors taking part in the Manteo Stroll can also enjoy performances at various downtown venues, shop late-night sales, and try seasonal food and drink specials.
