A second consecutive lay day has called competition OFF for the day at the WRV Outer Banks Pro Presented by Pacifico, a World Surf League (WSL) men’s Qualifying Series (QS) 2,000-level event. The Atlantic Ocean continues to lie dormant, but a promising wind swell is inbound to get Finals Day underway.
Next call, 6:30 a.m. EDT for a possible 7:00 a.m. EDT start.
“We’re still waiting for the ocean to come back to life, so we’ll go off again today and just plan to run the remaining heats of the event tomorrow,” said WSL Tour Manager Brian Robbins. “It’s always tough to see these kinds of forecasts, but our athletes are at such a high level, and we just want to try and put them in the best possible conditions on offer. We’ll come back at 6:30 a.m. to make sure we’re not missing anything, and get through all the way to the Final.”
Plus, 2022 event victor Michael Dunphy (USA), 2025 runner-up Wheeler Hasburgh (CAN), perennial Championship Tour (CT) qualification threat Jett Schilling (USA), East Coast standout Blayr Barton (USA), and more make their debuts.
