One decade of keg flying: 10th annual OBX Brewtag unfolds this Saturday

Craft beer and aviation enthusiasts alike will celebrate a decade of flight and fun at the 10th annual OBX Brewtag, taking place Saturday, October 24, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head.

Modeled after the Red Bull Flugtag, the OBX Brewtag features homemade flying machines built to launch empty 1/6 keg barrels off a high flight deck. Teams compete for ultimate glory to see whose custom craft can soar the furthest into aviation history.

In addition to the flying competition, the family-friendly event features hand-selected craft brews from across eastern North Carolina, local food vendors, live music from local bands throughout the afternoon, and dedicated children’s craft stations and activities.
