Serving gratitude and barbecue: Pigman’s announces Nov. 1 fundraising pop-up at Blue Crab Tavern

Those craving a taste of Pigman’s Bar-B-Que are in for a treat as the restaurant is set to host a special pop-up event on Sunday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Blue Crab Tavern in Colington.

The local staple, temporarily closed following a fire earlier this summer, is pivoting from its traditional end-of-season tradition to give back to the community that supported them throughout the rebuilding process. In lieu of its traditional half-off last day of the season, Pigman’s will offer free pork barbecue while supplies last. While the food is complimentary, Pigman’s will accept voluntary donations at the event to benefit the OBX SPCA. DJ Mattie will provide live music throughout the afternoon.

“While it’s been a rough year, we’re once again so incredibly thankful for all of the support, love, and encouragement our Pigman’s family has shown us,” the restaurant shared in a statement via social media. “We’re excited to bring a little Pigman’s to you.”

Attendees are invited to enjoy barbecue, purchase drinks from the tavern, support local shelter animals, and celebrate the end of Daylight Saving Time with the Outer Banks community.
