Free colon cancer screening kits, flu vaccines available Oct. 9 at Kill Devil Hills Library

The Kill Devil Hills Library will host a health clinic offering free at-home colon cancer screening kits and seasonal flu vaccines on Friday, October 9, from 12 p.m. noon to 3 p.m.

The event will take place aboard the Health Coach mobile unit parked at the library, located at 400 Mustian St.

Individuals ages 50 to 75 can pick up an at-home Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) kit to screen for colon cancer. Participants must return their completed kits to the Health Coach unit on Monday, October 12, between noon and 3 p.m. to receive individual test results.

Flu vaccines will also be administered for individuals ages 18 to 64.

While walk-in appointments will be accepted as space permits, advance registration for FIT kit pickup is encouraged online at secureforms.ecuhealth.org/262146393718968.

For additional information about the event, call 252-449-9183. Questions regarding the venue can be directed to the Kill Devil Hills Library at 252-441-4331.
