Professor Faucet is Dare County’s educational water conservation character who helps residents and property owners learn how to protect water resources, use water wisely and prevent common plumbing issues through a series of fun facts, helpful tips and interactive activities. Designed to make water education engaging and accessible, Professor Faucet—along with his surfboard-turned-lab kit—encourages members of the Dare County community to take an active role in caring for this essential resource.

Coloring contest participants in elementary school personalized an official coloring page obtained from the Dare County Water Department, while participants in middle school and high school were encouraged to create their own original Professor Faucet-themed design. Participants were also asked to include at least one fun fact about water or a water-saving tip on their artwork.

At the completion of the coloring contest, Dare County Water Department staff members reviewed the submissions and selected a total of four winners. Each of the winners received two complimentary tickets to the H2OBX Waterpark in Powells Point, NC.

Dare County congratulates Caroline Wilcox, Lyla Seibert, Monroe Satterwhite and Nova Bateman for their outstanding creativity and incredible artwork and thanks everyone who participated in the first Professor Faucet Coloring Contest.
